Rafferty's Restaurant & Bar is an employee owned company located in the Southeast United States. The first Rafferty's was opened in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1981. Another successful unit in Lexington, Kentucky soon followed the success of the original Rafferty's.
At the present time there are ninteen units in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Georgia, and South Carolina with an annual growth rate projected at two to three units per year.
The name Rafferty's was derived from the internal architecture of the building, and its visible atrium "Rafters." Although the name Rafters would have been a great fit, it was already used by another restaurant, so a "TY" was added and thus the name Rafferty's.
The current décor of our restaurants still feature the trademarks of the original unit on Scottsville Road in Bowling Green. Brick, stone, hardwood, plants and a unique, openly viewed kitchen layout allows guests to view the preparation of each and every fresh food product we serve.
